The University of Michigan consumer sentiment index in the US was revised up to 99.8 in January of 2020 from a preliminary of 99.1 and 99.3 in December. It is the highest reading in eight months, amid record low unemployment, record gains in income and wealth, as well as near record lows in inflation and interest rates.
