The MasterCard Index of Consumer Confidence (“Index”) is based on a survey conducted between 7 November to 23 December 2012 on 11,339 respondents aged 18 – 64 in 25 countries within Asia/Pacific, Middle East and Africa. This is the 40 th survey of Consumer Confidence conducted since 1993. The MasterCard Index of Consumer Confidence (“Index”) is based on a survey conducted between July 2014 and August 2014 on 12,205 respondents aged 18 – 64 in 27 countries within Asia/Pacific, Middle East and Africa. This is the 42 nd survey of Consumer Confidence conducted since 1993. Johannesburg, South Africa – South African consumer confidence has improved for the second half of 2013 according to the latest MasterCard Index of Consumer Confidence. With a score of 56.3, the Index currently describes local consumer confidence as ‘neutral-positive’.

Singapore, 16 August 2017 – Across Asia Pacific, overall consumer confidence stays buoyed in optimistic territory at 66.9 points, a slight improvement from 62.7 points six months ago, according to the Mastercard Index of Consumer Confidence released today. The 4.2 point increase in confidence was driven mainly by a bullish outlook on the Stock Market (+7.3) and Employment (+5.1).
